The Star Tribune's Chris Hewitt, interviewed Kao Kalia Yang. He said "Storytelling seems like a pretty great legacy." She replied, "When I'm gone, I hope what people will see is a statement about life's beauty. Sometimes people will say, 'Your books are so sad,' and I'm like, ...I don't think so. My books are so much about the strength of human beings and the power of love, And isn't that the greatest statement about humanity?"
